Sutter Tracy Community Hospital

Evelyn Tolbert ended her nine year term of dedicated service as a Sutter Tracy Community Hospital Trustee on Decmeber 31, 2006. She served on various committees throughout the years and when she ended her service she was Chairperson of the Nominating Committee as well as a member of the Personnel Committee. Many influential members of the community were recruited to the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital Board of Trustees with Evelyn's direct involvement during service as Chairperson of the Nominating Committee. Well know community activitists include: Peter Holtz, current Trustee Board president, Lerory Ornellas, Supervisor of San Joaquin County for the Tracy area, Ed Gable, Tracy Planning Commission; and Bob Matthews, Publisher of the Tracy Press. As her last Chairperson duty of the Nominating Committee, three very well known people were recruited to the Trustee Board: Barbara Matthews, Ex-Assemblywoman; Tom Havens, President and CEO of the Community Banks of Northern California; and Keena Turner, Major sponsor of the Tracy Boys and Girls Club. The Chief Executive Officer of Sutter Tracy Community Hospital is David Thompson. Sutter Tracy Community Hospital continues its unabated efforts to serve a cross-section of community needs. The Hospital's calendar of events contains blood drives for the Delta Blood Bank, childbirth and breastfeeding classes, as well as Alzheimer's Support Group meetings. There are also bereavement and grief support groups conducted by hospital chaplain, the Reverend Becky Cameron.

Healthy Connections Community Health Resource Center
The Healthy Connections Community Health Resource Center is one of the newer elements in the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital care system. Healthy Connections provides the following resources and referrals:

  • Emergency food & clothing
  • Health Insurance
  • Low income housing & shelters
  • Mental health and counseling
  • Breastfeeding & newborn care information
  • Post-partum depression information
  • Senior services
    Veteran's assistance
  • Youth programs
    Domestic Violence
  • Substance Abuse
  • And more!

The following services & programs are also being offered:

  • Senior Safety Inspections
  • Mommy & Me classes (including one in Spanish)
  • Parenting classes
  • Play groups
  • Family Success Teams
  • Foster parent support
  • Workshops for childcare providers, including non-licensed providers (such as grandmothers, aunts, etc.).

These services are for the entire community. There are no age or income limitations or requirements. They are for everyone in Tracy, regardless of their age or their income. Background on Sutter Health
In 1993, the Tracy Community Hospital began its affiliation with Sutter Health, a nonprofit health care organization.
